One thing that confuses buyers is some sellers accept Paypal payments through credit cards, while others only accept transfers. Paypal wants users to transfer funds, and not use their credit cards. The lifetime limit, or total amount you can send all eBay sellers with a credit card is $2,000. This confuses buyers who win auctions and assume a credit card transaction is fine. Some eBay sellers do not want to pay this fee for service, so they only accept payments by transfer.

If you only accept bank account transfers, and do not accept credit card payments through paypal be sure to mention this in your auction description and the payment types area. Even after you mention this, you will get credit card payments from some Paypal users. If you take a credit card through Paypal, and later refund the buyer's money, you will be out the Paypal fees if the refund is done more than 30 days after the initial transaction. You can put in the auction description that you accept Paypal, but unless you use the Paypal logo some buyers will miss this Payment choice. Accepting Paypal as a payment method might increase your selling prices and your profits.

Prefer sellers who accept credit card payments. When you use a credit card to pay for a purchase, federal law limits your liability for an unauthorized charge to $50. You can also request your credit card issuer to make a charge-back. The IFCC will review your complaint and refer it to the proper law enforcement agency. Internet Auction fraud is a large and growing problem.

Your Store or Auction charges their credit card plus shipping. You don't have to buy products in bulk and store them, hoping to sell. You don't have to pay to have it shipped to you, and then pay again to ship it to your customer. Remember you have already passed the shipping charge on to your customer, so the shipping costs you nothing. All you had to do was send an email to your drop shipper.

I also do not accept credit card payments from overseas buyers. Even if it states Master Card or Visa, they are not governed by the same rules and laws of the United States. I do not accept cashier's checks, even from US customers. Important lesson - I learned this the hard way! I have a FED EX account, which allows me to print a label and send an item from my computer without having to go to a shipping company. I receive a discounted rate on my shipping as opposed to taking it to a Mailboxes, etc.

I paid through Paypal using a credit card. Fortunately, I had used a protected credit card, and I was within the prescribed time limit. Both had time limits, which had expired, so they were unable to help me, so I turned the matter over to my credit card company. The date was somewhat extended, but I accepted it, as it was coming across country. I don't know what transpired but I subsequently received a notice from Paypal that they had credited my account.

I've had two instances where the seller did not ship my laptop and I had to dispute the charge with my credit card company. Always pay using Pay Pal or some other service that lets you use a credit card. Even when you use a credit card on Paypal your covered by the dispute and charge back protection provided by your credit card company. In both cases I received a credit back from my company and had no trouble from Paypal. You can still get Dell to service an in warranty unit but they won't transfer the ownership to your name.

If the auction sells, the buyer pays you, and Mission Fish charges your credit card, taking out $3. It would only make sense that it would work that way, since Mission Fish charges the seller's credit card, if all 1000 lots sold, that would be $1000 for the charity, Mission Fish would take $3. I sent her an email, and to end a long story, she indeed misunderstood, was obviously fairly upset at the prospect of paying $10,000, and ended the auction early. Now, I'd like my readers to do one of two things. If you think that eBay and Mission Fish are mishandling the charity program, as I do, please contact one or both and point them to this blog entry, or just write your own letter with your thoughts.

For example, you receive a credit card order for a product retailing for one hundred dollars plus five dollars shipping. You pay the fifty dollar wholesale product cost plus five dollars shipping using your own credit card. So, whether you sell other peoples` products or your own, drop shipping can increase your sales, preserve capital, and maximize business profits. You ship directly to the customer for your dealer. However, these are sales that you wouldn`t otherwise have.

The theory is that no one under 18 can get a credit card and therefore cannot get into these sections. The main purpose is to prevent children from seeing this kind of merchandise, and is similar to having covers on racy magazines at store checkouts. She is the author of the best-selling auction book on the Internet, 'Make Your Net Auction Sell' and offers an 11 Day Course that teaches how to sell on ebay. Sydney Johnston has been an eBay seller since 1996 and is the originator and teacher of the famous 'Auction Genius Course. So if you are a seller using this format, your listing will be harder to find.

There are three other methods of payment that you will need to decide if you will, or will not, accept. Many sellers accept International money orders in US Dollars. I've been accepting PayPal from International buyers all along. Just like money orders, there is a common misconception that they are as good as cash. There have been cases where blank stolen cashier's checks, or even bank checks have been forged.

If they accept credit cards make sure they have a secure server. Know the payment options the merchant accepts before you bid on their product. If they only accept checks or money orders, it may take even longer to get the product because the payment has to clear. If someone does out bid you, don't be afraid to out bid them. It's important to place a bid early in the auction to show other bidders you are interested in the product.

If only it were that easy - you have your credit card ready but the words that you dreaded flash up on your PC screen. Oh and that reminds me, ensure your credit card is working perfectly before trying to get those hot tickets. Reselling tickets can be a very good, exciting and relatively easy way of making a significant amount of extra money. If you do this, there is one key thing you need to know - how likely is it that a particular event will be sold out. With a little bit of knowledge and research you can pinpoint several events every week that are likely to be total sell outs - using the information you have just read you can purchase tickets to them and then profit from them till the cows come home.

Never accept any overpayments for any item. Accept payment from only one Paypal account per buyer. It the perpetrator is a business and a member of the Better Business Bureau you should also file a complaint there. File a complaint with the shipping company you used. Contact your local and state law enforcement agencies.

It also a good idea to find another alternative to process your credit card transactions because some people just don't like paypal. Are you really going to let all of that traffic pass you by. This article may be redistributed on the Internet as long as the byline remains intact. My personal opinion is to stick with it, because Ebay still comes up number one in the search engines when you type in online auctions. So instead of whining and complaining about something you can not control, you need to decide whether or not you are going to jump ship or adjust to the changes.
